The Alliance Connected Vehicles (ACV) team is accelerating the deployment of connected solutions for everyone across the Alliance brands at Groupe Renault, Nissan Motor Company and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation.

Our approach is a clear point of differentiation; we are targeting all segments, from mainstream cars through premium cars. At the Alliance, we are developing the common technology bricks that our brands will use to design the vehicle of the future; electric connected and autonomous.

Within the Alliance, ACV team is developing the Alliance Intelligent Cloud, which enables us to connect future, current and past connected vehicles onto the same platform. This allows Alliance member companies to provide new services not only to the current generation of vehicles but also to some of the 70 million or so vehicles already on the road from Alliance members.

Microsoft supports the Connected Vehicles Platform component of the Alliance Intelligent Cloud. The Connected Vehicles Platform manages Alliance connectivity across all markets.
Those who purchase products built by members of the Alliance will benefit from our investment through a widening array of new services, to be further enhanced by over-the-air upgrades.

In September 2018, the Alliance has signed a global multiyear agreement to partner with Google to equip Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors vehicles with intelligent infotainment systems. The Alliance will utilize Android, world’s most popular operating system, to offer customers a new array of services including Google Maps, the Google Assistant and the Google Play Store, scheduled to start in 2021.

These services will be combined with Alliance Intelligent Cloud based remote software upgrades and vehicle diagnostics. By combining the latest technologies from the Alliance and Google, the Alliance member companies’ vehicles will have the most intelligent infotainment system in the market. Drivers and passengers will be able to leverage Android capabilities to access an ecosystem that includes several of existing applications and an ever-expanding array of new apps. This integration, combined with the broad knowledge and a vibrant community of developers, will enable easy in-vehicle access to popular applications.
